I got my screen name from an forum signature fad that went around a Pokemon chat group I hung with on Neopets when I was 10. Pick a nickname or something you associate yourself with, it can be silly, it really doesn't matter as long as it doesn't have any copyrighted words in it (ie. Purplekecleon). Maybe just make a name up, use the name of your favorite anime character, or whatever. Just make sure it's easily spellable and you'll be golden.

Try taking a short sentence of a bunch of words you like and simplify it until it's unrecognizable. Play with the spelling, maybe.
Then go to namechk and see if it's already taken (mind that this thing doesn't actually work with all sites, for example every username will be marked as taken on Instructables).

I couldn't think of one so I just switched my initials around and added a number until I got one that wasn't taken.

Not very creative but nothing else came to mind or has since. There are decent artists running around with ridiculous account names but no one really cares in the end.

Now at 26, I'm a little embarrassed, but not much really.

I got mine from one of my video game characters. I come up with good names so I picked my fav one that sounds good and cool and started using it everywhere. It's a merge of a vieo game characters name and a city irl.
