I find easier to study values/depth in human anatomy with statues/sculptures
how do you call this kind of sculpture though? i've been trying to find keywords for more geometric/stylized sculpts, I tried art deco, art nouveau and constructivism but the results are really scarce
I'll bump the thread with some more examples and some general statue references in case anyone wants to share theirs for study too.

i'm afraid that most of the words you'd use to describe something like that would be too general for searching, art deco is already probably the closest, you could put something like 'art deco statue stone' to get big outside ones, and i think that's as close as you'll get unless you just find ones you like and look up other sculptures by the same artist

that was my suspicion as well, besides i don't think google is a good platform for this kind of search, i was kind of hoping to find a site that had a lot of these kind of sculptures/pics but my best shot atm is just stick with artists I stumble upon and look into their work.

oh also you might try look for architectural details from art deco buildings, they often have caryatid kinda thingies and other figurative ornamentation

thanks i'll check for those too.

How did ancient sculptors learn the human body if Loomis wasn't around yet?
>>2950113
they had servants and slaves to pose indefinitely also no internet to procrastinate.
Anyways, these are sculptures from the Staglieno Cemetery. There were a bunch of sculptures in that Art Decò style, but I can't find them anywhere.
Good shit anon

Thank you.
I should have some photos of Pietrasanta (mostly Igor Mitoraj's sculptures), if anyone is interested.

It was made by Santo Varni, a Genoese sculptor. The site linked here >>2951734
says it's his wife's tomb, but it's actually the tomb of a certain Giuseppe Paradis Di Pietro. His wife's statue (see pic) is almost identical, though.
