You are either a 18 year old girl with autism thinking everybody can pick up drawing just like that. Or you are a 20+ year old faggot. Either way plz read STICKY.
>>2946956
It's either Malaysia or a 12 year old.
>>2946957
Oh Malaysia threads were the best, haven't seen those in a while tho.
Random water color 1
>>2946955
your linework is complete shit
this pic reminds me of the perspective exercises i used to do back in 7th grade, so you must be pretty young
perspective is alright, which officially makes you better than 50% of /ic/
drop the colored pencils and stick to watercolor. and get bigger brushes so you can cover more surface in one stroke

Idgi? The sticky won't load for me. The rules section loads but the beginners guide stalls, am I breaking a rule? Sorry if I am.
>>2946966
Well I'm not young, but I'm going into art cold turkey. Didn't pick it up will after college. My lines suck balls because I have essential tremors. I try to work past it :p
Another random water color but more used them like regular paints.
I do love water color though I need to get back to it
>>2946974
Ah, that's strange. Alright, sorry.
>>2946974
Can you link that? The sticky links aren't working on mobile
>>2946970
dont blame the tremors, shaky lines dont make linework bad, chicken scratching does
>>2946978
Weems to work better than just drawing lines, I thought anyway. Tried to emulate styles of some comic artists I like. It's something I'm definitely aware of and working on
this forum is not an art gallery.
do not post your art here.
>>2946977
It's not a sticky link, you fucking mong. There is a search bar, use it.
>>2946980
could you post some of the comic artists you are trying to emulate?
>>2946981
I was sent here from /co/ Idk. The rules didn't say anything about not posting your work
>User-created artwork is submitted for critique, and visual art is discussed. Do not claim authorship of works you did not create.
??
>>2946987
it was a joke anon.
>>2946990
Woosh. By the way others were acting I wasn't sure.
>>2946987
What do you want to accomplish with your art?
>>2946998
I'd like to illustrate a children's book eventually. I'm also interested in illustrating a board game or something.
I don't think I'm really cut out for making a career out of it, but I'd really like to at least be able to produce decent enough work for a few projects.

That's God damn amazing
I love you anon

I've only skimmed this thread because this broad is kinda toxic and it gets on my nerves, so if you've already gotten this advice I apologize.
I think your work is pretty nice for someone who just started. I know you want a cartoony look, but make sure you have a good grasp on anatomy and realism. This really helps when developing your style and figuring out which parts to exaggerate and what not.
Your line work isn't very good, but that's okay. I also struggle with as my hands are pretty shaky. My first piece of advice would be to lighten up your pencil work. When getting sketching pencils the harder the lead the lighter the line. Be careful though because it's way easier to leave an indent in the paper with really harder pencils. Working digitally can also help because some programs have line stabilizers.
If you want to work with colored pencils, I suggest making little circles when coloring. This makes it easier to blend and makes it look smoother. Also, apply the pencil lightly and add layers until the color looks solid.
Um, yeah. Hope that makes sense. I'm kinda bad at explaining things. Good luck!

>toxic
There's that word again, followed by a patronizing post.
/ic/ exists to get away from people like you, so please go back to whatever hole you crawled out of.
>>2948085
There's a difference between being honest and being a dickhead. Way to show a bunch of strangers on 4chan what a pro you are.
>>2948085
>/ic/ exists to get away from people who actually give helpful advice without being condescending dicks
that actually explains a lot about this board.

fucking KEK

oh my god, lol!!

People who come here like brutal honesty. That's what this community is for, and is a large part of the appeal of an anonymous board. The average artist on /ic/ would take far more offense to your shitty dishonest politeness, than to a direct answer.
/ic/ is also great for gauging your progress and the popularity of your style if you're an intermediate artist, because it brings out the honesty and insecurity all at once. You get people sucking your dick, and insecure trolls trying to tear you down, both of which are signs that you're making good progress. Critique from the more level headed anons also tends to be very direct, whether it's good or bad, because there are no repercussion to you as a person for being harsh.
What we don't need is vague politeness, because it obscures criticism and honest discourse. If that's what you want, there are countless other art communities you can join. Of course, the biggest drawback to posting on /ic/ right now is the complete lack of moderation, which means the trolls can do whatever they want, but with proper moderation to weed out the shitposters, the system I described above works perfectly.

Yes, so kindly fuck off.
