So whenever I post my work people always telling me that I should paint. But I don't even like painting? I just like to sketch. They think i'm lazy or comfort zoning because I never paint. It's like me saying you're lazy because you don't like drawing dinosaurs.
Thoughts?

1. Do what you enjoy, but
2. Get out of your comfort zone and try to improve from time to time, but
3. Still do what you enjoy, if you don't enjoy it, then what point is there?

tell these "people" to fuck off

I think the painting-to-dinosaur analogy is a little rough. Maybe people think that you'll be able to understand fundamentals a bit more if you wrap your head around how color/value/light affect a form. Then again if you're content just doing lines that ok too. Personally I think you should try it for a month or two and see where it gets you. I can understand your apprehensiveness if you dont have a tablet tho
>you are competent at thing
>you should start producing things actually capable of sale with thing

Not gonna make it

Well, if all you ever do is sketches, then you kinda are lazy. I mean, there are lots of artists who don't paint at all, but they still do finished line drawings. So it's not about whether or not you like painting, but about getting pieces to a presentable finish within your preferred method.

I do add some light pencil shading here and there, I just done render it or color it.

I don't care about money, I do this purely for fun

This guy is right, he sucked a wise man schlong.
Not OP, but I've recently started to paint and holy hell its such a pain in the ass. I'm not even used to photoshop either so I guess it helps with the strain, but still. I can't even get the grayscale values down right even if I've read through and watched heaps of resources regarding painting. Should I study more on it or should I just go paint even if it feels like I cant get it to work perfectly?
