What do you guys use to promote your drawings en masse, and get large ammounts of likes? Any techinques?
Here I've drawn two relatively simple sketches, which...normies seem to like, and that combined with a simple question, 1 or 2, invites them to comment, resulting in popularity spike of the post basically pinning it to the top of said group's page.
>>
>>2942225
You're a massive faggot, but the drawing is good for what it is, a shitty sketch. Normies like sketches more than finished drawings I've noticed
>>
Interacting with viewers is always good. I like to give them options to choose what should I draw next.
>>
>>2942225
You only need bells and whistles to attract normie attention. Ask for their two cents on anything, give them some apealing picture, no matter the quallity and they'll be all over you.

I bet you need manuals for everything in your shitty live.
>>
>>2942275
and now provide us with a manual on how you achieved that conclusion

People don't follow because they only like Artist X's work. They follow because they like Artist X, in general. Artist X can have great art, but if they're not posting regularly and interacting with followers (not necessarily 1 on 1, even things like "How do you guys like this so far?" are good), they'll have a lower number of followers.

Don't tag with the most popular tags. Your work will be drowned out. Tag with popular just not as popular tags (so #kawaii instead of #cute for example).

Like artists with a similar style and amount of followers. Network, mothafucka.

Speaking of networks, use the people you know IRL. Connect your contact list to your Instagram and follow everyone. After a week, just unfollow everyone who didn't follow you back (unless you like their posts, then obviously keep following them). You want to do this because you'll start showing up on the suggested feeds for everyone that follows them. Buddy up with your local Stacy. Throw her a quick sketch every once in a while.

To be honest if I even post work, I only post anonymously because I'm shit.

Is it even possible to make it if you don't want to interact with other people on social media? I want people to follow me on tumblr but I don't want to follow them back because I usually don't like their art, and I'm not good at pretending to like their art.
>>
>>2942225
i've fallen to start posting drawings of chicks, but at least i cyber them up a bit, people tend to like more lady drawings
>>
>>2942293
>follow people just for the sake spreading your shit
i hate people like you, you should be gassed
but you are right

What if you follow relatively shitty artists but actually enjoy watching them improve and want to support them?

I remember when I started on tumblr I had a guy way out of my league follow me and regularly like my stuff. Where I am now I know what his game was, and that he probably didn't much care about my art, but it was encouraging at the time and meant a lot to me as a beginner.

>even possible to make it

Depends on what you define as "making it".

Don't follow them then. They're interested in your shit. If they want your friendship tell them you are not interested

I used to post something daily on social media and now I stopped. It's been a nice eye-opener for two things: one, that nobody gives a shit about your daily sketches and your interaction unless you're already established. What really matters is a portfolio, maintaining a blog with skethes and whatnot is just window dressing. Second, that the good artists who maintain social media are trying to sell you something. They're either instructors or publishers, the sketch-a-day thing is marketing. Followers mean nothing. The brutal truth is that these artists are so fucking good they can allow themselves to waste time on pictures that are solely destined for marketing. The brutal truth is that the quality of your work is the one and only thing that matters and you've got to be the best of the best to get anywhere. Any examples that don't fit into this narrative are not artists, they're internet personalities who happen to do art.
>>
>>2953599
That's a really comfy truth desu.

Having a blog is generally a good idea, as long as you gain something from it, be it personally or professionally.
I don't even disagree with >>2953599, but it's the absolute and only truth. Being charismatic and engaging will help you in getting popular; being popular will help you getting funding or commissions. If you aim for the industry a blog really shouldn't be your main concern until you've met the standards.
>>
>>2942233
Cause anyone can show the final product, seeing the in-progress is probably fascinating for normies.

I mean actual artists are the same. How many of us have flipped through an art book (Any of them) to see the design sketches and thumbnails that came before our favourite images?
>>
>>2956326
It's worth it if you're using it to showcase an actual project that you're working on, Just posting a sketch a day for its own sake won't do anything.

I don't do shit. It always ends up being a waste.

I'm too shitty of an artist to gain any attention anyway.
>>
>>2956326
You should anyway, it helps with work ethic if you try to set yourself a goal (eg. one drawing every 2 days).
>>
Ok. Very stupid question but I am totally new to this.

I made an extra facebook account for the art. And form this account I made an artist page.

When I follow/like somebody, this is done from the account right? Is there a way to make it form the page?

And how do I find art groups and how does it work? Do I join them form my account or my page??
