i dont see porn being a very big deal to draw porn.

They shouldn't find out in most cases unless snooping. If they do it doesn't particularly matter, anyone of sound mind and understanding can reason why you would draw porn. If they seriously judge you then there's really no reason to associate with them. Literal worst case scenario is your job telling you to take down your account, In which case I suppose it's up to you to decide which you value more. They can't, and won't usually stop you from drawing porn though. Their worry lies more on doing it under your real identity or association with whatever business it is.

I don't think the confidence comes from drawing porn in particular, I think it comes from drawing in general. I enjoy putting in the practice, getting to know my tools, and overall having a lot of fun with the process. I think once you come to understand those thoughts, drawing porn becomes second nature.

No, I was always comfortable with my sexuality ever since I was young, so drawing cocks and pussy, tits and ass again, is second nature. Having a good understanding of your own sexuality is a great benefit to have when drawing porn.

It only enhances it, but that's my opinion. When you draw porn, you start to develop a normal attitude towards it that doesn't affect your other work. In fact, the more time you spend drawing smut, the less it clutters the mind, therefore leaving you with much more time to think about the regular pieces you want to draw and showcase in your portfolio.

Family members have known, friends have known, colleagues know, my girlfriend knows. Be honest about what you do. People will be more accepting of it rather than you hiding it from everyone. Those who don't like it will slowly disappear from your life, but hey, that just life.
Those who sick around will bear fruit to your success, personal, professional and otherwise.

Take criticism subjectively and honestly. Not everyone is going to like your work. Different strokes for different folks. Some people will throw technical words at you, but always ask them for a reference picture about what they're talking about. Those people genuinely interested in helping you will provide some form of visual aid. Those interested in just giving you their opinion will offer none.

Learn to distinguish between the two so that you can separate a good critique from a biased opinion.

I can't speak out on this since I'm not employed for my art, as it's more of a hobby. I mean I've done a few NSFW commissions but it's very few and far in between. But I will say if Rebecca Sugar can draw nasty ed edd n eddy yaoi and still get work at Cartoon Network then drawing so dicks shouldn't be an issue.

I just happen to do both and draw it too.

I personally would not put erotic art of any kind (that includes nudity or scantily clad figures) into a portfolio unless you are applying for a job doing that. Speaking as someone who's hired designers and illustrators professionally as an art director, anything like that I see in a portfolio, when there is no work like that being done, puts that person into the "pass" pile automatically.

As for judgement, that's on you. Some people will accept it, others won't. It's your life, and yours to learn to navigate.
