If she wants something actionable, study the head, look up caricature you like and figure out why. Tom Richmon has a good book on instruction, schoolism has an online class as well.

Most of all, be patient, it will take time to become proficient.

Thanks I found it online and will probably buy it if she's serious about it. It actually looks a lot like the person it's portraying which is great; really all it was was a play to get her to work on non cartoony faces for once and really study them and I think it came out pretty good. Her other stuff is VERY stylized but she wants to learn but keeps drawing stuff in her style, so I'm happy she took up the offer.
