You could definitely go less fuzzy on the fur. Since you show so many individual hairs she looks a bit mangy rather than having a soft coat. I think you could make her calves/thighs longer too, and shorted the foot a bit. It looks like you put human-esque calf muscles into the foot region, too, so you could skinny up the upper section of her feet.

The pupils are kind of throwing me off due to the glowing. I haven't seen the show in years, so I have no idea if that's normal. Maybe remove the glow completely and give the pupils a less saturated color. An aquamarine-ish hue instead of that saturated blue is helping be less of a distraction while examining the room.

Also, the grass/rug looks really rough once you notice her left foot. The plants overlapping on her kind of breaks the illusion that says "hey, this looks kind of real!" at first glance. Other than that, I'm really digging both this and >>2928925's, bro.

If you don't mind sharing, are your texture animations and blur done in After Effects?

Sure thing! Both effects are done straight into Photoshop.

For the texture animation thing, it's just a three frame loop of squiggly lines and different levels of noise overlayed 3 times - once for each frame.

For the blur effect (good for sharing detail shots), you can skew the image, crop in on the detail, blur two opposite corners, and then sharpen the non-blurred part a tiny bit.

I think it comes down to personal taste I'm sure there are people out there who love your stuff so feel free to ignore me, personally I really hate the textures you use especially on the fur, I feel itchy when I look at it. Also you overuse filters and and rim-lighting. The anatomy in this one is pretty wonky too.

You can try tracing that comic image digitaly for start.
What does your lines look like atm?

My lines got a lot better after tracing my pencil drawings, because working traditional was easier, and my underdrawings were more solid.

I would if I could. But when I go above 1920x1080 with 72 ppi and zoom out a bit my photoshop stops working properly. When I draw lines (normal lines with the pen tool) it sometimes gets stuck and it stops ignoring pressure and has really edgy curves for a few seconds. My PC really sucks kinda. If it was for me I'd totally use 300 ppi

This doesn't matter. You can be working 1" x 1" and it can be 700ppi and it'll just be 700px x 700px.

This is what matters. I think it's good to be drawing at 3000px minimum on your shortest side. 6000px and above is ideal.

There's your problem, especially if you're struggling to work at 1080x1920. My Macbook Pro from 2009 can handle much larger than that, so your computer must be extremely dated or riddled with problems.

Trying to reproduce the image would mean you are capable of making the marks, just lack the skill and experience to figure out line weight.

You sure? Because with 300 ppi you can actually start printing stuff. Also having 1920x1080p on a canvas needs to be at 66,7% zoom on 72ppi and 16,7% on 300 ppi.
Only difference really is that I can print it if it's 300 ppi, which might be something that I wanna do once I don't suck anymore.
Doesn't really solve my PC problem. Because yes, it is that shitty. It did cost 300 bucks, though the HDD and Network card make up about a third of the price.

I'm positive. I shouldn't say PPI doesn't matter, but it just doesn't matter until it's time to print.

PPI - in addition to your intended print size - is what determines what resolution you need to have.

Lets say you want to print something at 8" x 10".

At 150ppi, that is 1200 x 1500, because it's (8" x 150ppi) by (10" x 150ppi).

At 300 ppi, that is 2400 x 3000, because it's (8" x 300ppi) by (10" x 300ppi)

Does that make sense? Changing the PPI does not magically change the resolution. A 1080 x 1920 document at 72 ppi is the same resolution as it would be at 300ppi.

I meant the literal tracing, opacity down, drawing on top of it. Or doing it with any other pic where you like the lines. If you can get the line weight and smoothness right then you can do it on your oen sketches, all you need is mileage.
