I don't know what that is, but it looks pretty freaking cool in my book.
>>
>>2928291
youve got a book about it and you dont know what it is?

but really explain this, someone.
>>
>etching thread on /ic/
Sorry senpai, /ic/ is too full of normies to know what etching is
>>
>>2928381

We had ceramics thread which was very good, but yeah, it was more of a bizarre happy accident than anything. /ic/ can't even hold sculpture threads, artistic printing is just waaay too obscure and specialized and I think only art students had any experience with it during selected classes.

Art student here, etching is an entire subject at my school.

OP here, etching is a form of manual printing and drypoint is one of its subtechniques.
Im interested, what is your book about?

Use plexiglass so dont have to mess whit acid
Use sandpaper for grey areas (thicker=blacker)
Go back to your art.school,(in my case they let me use the press)

I do, but this is the only one I have a picture of atm. So far, we've only worked with wood. Next year we are going to get into metal.
>>
I did etching once and fell in love with it, I want to do it again as soon as I get access to another press, so there is interest :)
>>
>>2927913
It is like nails on a chalkboard to me when people confuse etching with dry point engraving.

You have pretty good curves there, thats a sign that you have a proper use of the tool, work in the design itself.
