That's a little harsh, there's not much change I see in anatomy/construction but the lineart and coloring definitely improved

Character design is less generic and more interesting to look at, also coloring and I think lines as well are better.

If anything, left gives very strong "high-school art" vibe while the second doesn't, if in terms of presentation alone.
