Not that anon, but just keep practicing figure drawing from reference my man. It reads better as a thumbnail because your key issues are misplaced details, whereas the broader illustration has less issues. E.g. the wrists seem thin.

Thanks I will! This figure I actually drew without a single reference to test if I've gotten better at drawing from imagination, but I guess it shows. To me your edit makes her arms look weirdly fat, but I see what you mean (in mine her left lower arm is half as thick as the right).

Thanks anon, I'll work hard!
I managed to drag it through a scanner, colours look a bit nicer now.
Also, I used watercolour but I had a great fear of overdoing it, especially in the right pic I feel like I didn't shade enough because I was afraid of screwing it up.
That's something I need to get over, I'm going to do some watercolour practice and then hopefully do another princess over the weekend.

Very cool, nice work on actually making her fused with an octopus. Are those 2 prominent bulges in the middle of the picture supposed to look like her butt? If so, the cheeks are strangely far apart. It's not too bad, I actually thought it looked pretty cute, especially the snake with the crown. You have some proportional problems though, her right arm (left for us) is very short. Also try not to avoid drawing hands (and with that, fingers) too much, it shows. Her left boob is also in a way different location than her right. Use more refs, you'll get there!

As for the proportions, I see what you mean, I had some trouble figuring out how I was going to place her right arm and even after many sketches I still screwed it up a bit.

Maybe I'm just being stupid, but when I practice drawing I use references and when I'm trying to make a finished work like this I work all from imagination.

It's fun to work from imagination so I get what you mean. But you can combine that, as when you're stuck on, for example, the foreshortening of the arm, you just look up some references that resemble your problem and try to apply those. You don't have to copy the refs, just use the information they provide.
