>Draw a cartoon
>Throw out all of the fundamentals and only draw what looks nice
>It's absolutely wonderful and I can apply perspective when I need to
Is this the best approach to design?
Is it best to just to go with what looks good to you?

Example?
Here's my 2 cents.
If drawing is the fabrication of reality, then ultimately what matters is that the illusion is convincing.
So if it looks good, then that's all that matters
No, it's best to use shape construction, at least initially. Make sure you draw active or highly interesting gestures.

Are you that guy who draws porn of his high school crush?
>>2914838
Yes.
>>2914884
I am sorry for what I said last time.
>>2914890
I don't remember what you said last time.
>>2914898
I said you were a creepy loser for spending so much time learning how to draw just to produce porn of your crush instead of trying to fuck your crush.
>>2914664
Sounds like you're still applying learned fundamentals methodically instead of habitually
>>2914664
Being able to make a good drawing while ignoring fundamentals just means that you actually know your fundies.
>>2914918
This.
It's literally stylization, OP.
>>2914664
if it looks right it is right
>>2914910
It's ok.
I don't really care enough.
>>2914915
It's the best way to do it.
Focused thought is the only way to get anywhere.
Really? doesn't anybody here remember the "muh style" faggots who think they are the next DaVinci yet they produce literal digital cancer?
OP sounds like one of those.
Tried to learn fundamentals, realized it's hard, calls it muh style.

Every piece of art (from an aesthetic point of view) is a balancing act of fundies and design, you can get away with focusing on one or the other, but my fave artists are usually a mix of the too

>It's hard
It's really not once you do it enough.
Design is always important, or else you're only going to make bland, boring shit.
It's dumb to only focus on fundamentals.
You might as well draw an apple and expect people to think it's wonderful just because you've the skill to understand perspective.
Spoiler Alert: They can only see what's on the paper.
>>2917018
Design can actually be reduced to a fundamental.
It's actually called Shape, and it's best to go with what looks cool/flows well when you're thinking in shape.
If it looks nice to you, it looks nice to other people.
