says it all, really. instead do olsons's lecture series, all of scotty's materials (remember he has a ton of free videos too), and dynamic sketching if you want. a curriculum with enough rigor and method to actually prepare you for things like digital rendering instead of feeling good that you can draw a lot of boxes (without any sort of formalized foundation).

There literally isn't one.

It's FREE as in free beer. There are actual assignments with examples of what the result should look like. Everything is explained in a down to Earth conversational way. There is a subreddit for questions and you can pm his reddit account with questions. He even has a couple inspirational comics to help you if you get down about your grind. He has went through THOUSANDS of critiques FOR FREE and helped a bunch of students (myself included).

The advertisements on the page are amazon sponsors that are neatly tucked at the end of each lesson, and each product is something the teacher uses or suggests with a mini explanation of why he uses said product or reads said book (all of the books he suggests are /ic/ approved).

Uncomfortable is a fucking treasure to the art world and fuck anyone who shits on him for teaching us and asking zilch in return.

The self-assessment part sucks ass, I am too harsh on myself at the same time I'm too lazy, so I'm never satisfied with less than perfect and that takes all my energy away.

I'm considering ignoring all his appeals of not skipping lessons and trying to go to something less boring than part one.

Not instructional enough. Only really useful if you've already gone through the exercises wrt DRAWING and are curious about the physical principles actually underlying the techniques you're using. I guess you could derive all the techniques from this shit, but you'd probably be a math major not doing art...
