Probably. It certainly is one of my favorite paintings. I actually saw some Repins irl a few weeks ago along with his other Peredvizhniki buddies. Their work blew me the fuck away. If you like Repin check out Nikolay Kasatkin too.

It's a good one. In terms of really gruesome socking heavy handed emotion it's one of the best. There's tons of paintings with really subtle stuff though and it comes down to personal taste on it or past personal experiences on how much you can relate.

For just visceral things, I always like this Goya.
