How does everyone hold their preferred art utensil?
B is best grip as it forces you to draw with the arm instead of the wrist. I even do detail work like that.

C for maximum control and smooth lines.
E for detailing.

A all the way

J or G most of the time, sometime I if I want to
right now I am going to try F since it looks interesting and moving my middle finger becomes painful sometimes (from too much lol)
wtf I didn't know there was a name for my autistic way of holding a pen. J here

Really wish I learned how to hold a pencil properly back in grade school, my hand and wrist cramp up like crazy holding the pencil like that
>>2910347
Its like he tried to find the most awkward grip possible and then only used that for the unique snowflake points
>>2909989
Normally G or J. If I'm drawing on a bigger canvas and trying to get nice gestural strokes/doing gestures than I'll do C
>>2909989
F because I'm not a fucking gorilla and I don't even know how to draw on those other plebeian ways. It kinda hurts my middle finger, but at least I don't draw like a retard.

I just drew Image with the grasp it shows to try it out. It worked better than I anticipated. Soft touch and no muscle memory or auto pilot so you got to think about every line you put down. It wasn't so good for precise hard edges though.

Pretty good, Anon. Though thumb is too short and soft and fifth finger is too long and weird.
>>2910479
thx. But yeah. My anatomy knowledge isn't that good yet so I was mostly going by observation and I think I might have viewed it at different angles. At least I didn't try to polish it so there's that win.
like a pencil

After trying to draw it, I have come to the conclusion this is impractical.
>>2909989
I ask my dad to hold it for me.

you change your grip depending on what kind of stroke you're trying to make.

F.
Parents and teachers tried to teach me use the J grip for years and none of them succeeded. I was stubborn as a mule as a kid, and now I'm just plain set in my ways.
