Pahahaha, just lol at any "network for female and femme inspired artists".

Don't you see how patronising it is? You are saying that these people need a special 'vagina friendly' voice to help them along because they can't make it in the real world alongside real men and women making art? That these people can't exist to the same standards that non "femme friendly" artists do, so they need a special needs publication?

And what exactly qualifies it as femme? I'm guessing sexualised images are out, unless it's a woman sexualising another woman. Does it have to have flowers? A girl in a dress in a cornfield? Does it have to be Grr, I am Womyn? Can I plug my art through it even though I'm a boy, because I mostly draw beautiful women? If some of my women are naked and horny, am I out because it's reinforcing hetero norms?

I guess you wouldn't count all of the incredible artists of the 19th century who explored the depths of the female psyche in millenia old myth and deep roots through society and history? The artists who fully explored and celebrated what it is to be a woman? Would you say these artists weren't "femme and female friendly" because most of them were men? Prove me wrong and spotlight someone who doesn't think Frida Karlo is #yaas slay, spotlight someone who draws unsavoury things from time to time, some up and coming talent that could do with your platform because if they posted to tumblr people would whine about their work, and report them, and doxx them, and take away their voice.

So that's my opinion of your magazine. Patronising, fluffbunny hugbox drivel. Remove the "femme" angle, but still feature women, and you might have a good publication that will appeal to rational people too, not just fellow tumblr users. It's reflected in the number of likes you're getting on your insta, which is probably all you care about, beyond your banal "femme friendly" meaningless platitude.

Nice, clean design. Bad typography and spacing on the "by babes, for babes".

Oh and by the way, a comment on the shop.

A helpful reminder to you ladies looking for a guy. Most of the men I know would turn around and leave if you had an edgy print of a vagina on your wall, or on a cushion. It just screams 'batshit'.

Would you feel comfortable going to a guy's house who had dicks and balls all over the place? Who told you that he only supports male artists, and buys male only and male friendly art through a special shop? Or would you turn around and leave, because that's fucking weird and a sign you're not well.

If you're wondering why you're having trouble finding a good guy, and that frustration is feeding into your radicalisation as a "pro femme voice" fighting for gender segregation and 50/50 equality or whatever dystopian future you want, then maybe there's your problem. Try asking yourself before you buy a framed print of a vagina - what would a normal person do? Would people see this as odd and disturbed?

Good luck with your magazine

That's right, teach young confused lesbians to alienate themselves from the rest of society with their vagina art, so that the only friends who respect them are the same close minded group of femme fluffbunnies? That way they're so far removed from living a happy, balanced life that they'll listen to everything you have to say! They'll be even more scared and alienated and angry at the world, because that's the mission you guys have!

should they keep the vaginas out if and when they have children?

Well done, you really answered my critique thoughtfully.

Still, I like your graphic design and you have contributors who write quite well, and some of the illustrators have a fair amount of merit. So congrats are in order on that front. How long have you been established?
>>
>>2908452
Dude calm down lol. I draw far more abrasive shit then vaginas on a regular basis and im sure most of us do as well.

Just say "not for me" and move on instead of ranting about your projection of a girl that hurt you once.

Can you feature some women from the third world? Some women from Saudi Arabia or Somalia or pretty much anywhere but the US and mainland Europe? I imagine those women would really appreciate your help, and don't worry - they're just as talented and as quirky as the artists you currently showcase.

I would have the utmost respect if you actually did this. If you organised events to raise awareness for these women. If you showcased their work and their plight as literal second class citizens.

Jeez, I'd buy your publication right away if you had a segment where you reached out to women like this.

But I bet you won't, because it's much easier to just repost some drawing by 20 something art grad who identifies as "femme".

Prove me wrong? lmao
>>
>>2908455
That's not exactly a thought out response.

As I've said, it's partly for me, partly not. Aesthetically and production wise, you're nailing it. Message wise, see above lmao.

I think it's brave to post to 4chan tho, so you are looking to improve, that's why I've offered my opinion. This board is about helping each other improve, which is subjective, so don't just cop out and say "projecting" lmao. I'm actually gay.
>>
>>2908424
I appreciate your perspective, but that is not at all what we are going for. It's not about a "special needs publication" but, I, as a female, believe I have a perspective that aligns with other females of my generation. That doesn't mean that we intend to exclude males, or anyone of any gender preference.. The point of the publication is to be all encompassing and understanding, bring our collective experiences to one place to inspire one another...

If you navigate through our site, and perhaps flip through other future publications maybe you will come to understand our mission as something other than patronizing.

Our only goal is to show off some art, and tell some good stories, we don't care for anything else.

Thanks for the feedback on design as well, it will be considered!

I have to agree with the angry anon

>run of the mill queer femme magazine
>not even funny edgy mag
>no sense of humour or irony
>doesn't do any brave 3rd world women's advoc
>boring content
>no roots or appreciation of the history behind publications like these
>generic tumblr style

It's not looking good for you gals, those Instagram likes are going to stay in the double digits :(
>>
>>2908433
I appreciate your feedback, you provided a really interesting perspective for me...

I have a great man in my life, we have very regular, and beautiful sex, sometimes multiple times in a day. He loves my appreciation for other women, and art and general, and I think that only speaks confidence of him...

I only hope that everyone can find a sexual partner so confident in themselves to not be ashamed of their body. But, instead, acknowledge it for the incredible instrument of life and pleasure that it is.

Thank you for your feedback!
We definitely plan to cover a variety of topics, I myself am of Egyptian decent and I am passionate about the variety and quality of life throughout our world.

Our goal is to be all encompassing and reflecting of the truest parts of society... We wouldn't dare leave anyone out that we knew we could represent!

We also hope to cover a variety of ages, and people from all walks of life... I hope that you will tune back in and read our future issues!

Hey, thanks for coming down off the defensive and listening, I was quite caustic, but critics are even more scathing than the generic egalitarian rant I went on, so it's good to be able to be measured.

You, as a human being, probably have a view that aligns with a lot of people, boys and girls! You sell your own contribution to the world short by only aiming it at men or women.

Do great comedians and philosophers aim their work at one gender? Is the work of the great master artists, male and female, only aimed at one gender? Only accessible to one specific divide in the human species?

I think you're selling yourself short, and accidentally contributing to the divide between men and women, and straight and gay people, which isn't helping equality and acceptance. I'll try and explain what I mean.

Take a good zine, something like Crack here in the UK. Or a US equivalent.
Crack in the UK is pretty cool, and pretty underground. It's also very left wing and pro LGTBQF+, but it doesn't advertise itself as a 'magazine for gays' or 'for lesbian voices'. It's just an interesting mag full of good music, stories, fashion.

Anyone can read it, a redneck or a mexican migrant, a 15 year old girl or a 40 year old man, and enjoy some part of it, even if it's full of writing from lesbian voices, or marginalised groups. Because it's inclusive, not exclusive.
That's my main criticism of your magazine:
>By babes, for babes
From the very start I was excluded, which is kinda sad. Don't you think it's better to involve everyone, so everyone can hear the voices and see the art of the people you represent?

That's all. I don't have an issue with your message or the themes you explore, just the whole exclusivity, which makes it seem like a "special needs" mag.

Peace, love you

Hey, I'm plenty confident in my sexuality, I happily encourage my partner to not be ashamed of their body, to the point where we're happy to walk around in the buff. I never said there's anything shameful about the body, or that you should hide it from those you love or care about.

However, there is one major issue in society
>children.
You can't be naked in front of another person's child. You can't have pornographic images on display for someone else's child to see. That includes your family bringing some little cousin round to your flat with the vagina cushions. That includes wearing "pussy hats" in public. Porn artists on /ic/ understand this, so body positive feminists need to understand this too.

Sexualising them at an early age is wrong. It is cruel. It's psychologically proven to harm a child's psyche, and to arrest their development. You can ruin their lives by being too open with your sexuality around them. Unfortunately, the only way we can live as a society, is if we teach children that genitals are only for peeing from until they are sexually and psychologically mature enough to understand reproduction and pleasure. It's the only way.

That's all :) Glad you're having fun with your partner

I don't get these people.

They walk around thinking that they can't enjoy life without it being filtered through a 'femme' lens.

I could make a lot of money selling shit advertised as 'femme and poc and queer friendly', because you know they have to buy it.
>They can't just have a regular art magazine, or a women's art magazine, it has to be even more special and unique.

How about 'femme friendly' toothpaste? Would you buy that? Baked beans with 'extra body positivity'? How about just a normal newspaper, but I cross out all the male journalist names and colour the headline in pink?

Why don't we live in one society? Why do people constantly want to split us up and label us, and make special things for their special group?

Why are you surprised when white nationalists do the exact same thing? They can't help being white, just like you can't help being a woman or a lesbian. Why can't we all be happy and proud of who we are? Why divide us?

In fact, there's an idea for all you struggling d/ic/ks out there. Do some queer and femme and poc and zog and spic and queef friendly drawings, you'd probably make a killing!

Half of these girls are so unorganised, if you put 5% more effort into it than them, you'd be really famous amongst that little community.

All you need is a pseudonym, do a handful of pussy drawings, write some gay ass quotes and a drawing of Frida Kahlo, and boom, easiest money in the world. You'll be famous amongst all the armpit hair problem glasses gals of the world.

Hell, your work might be on cushions in a safe space! On some teenage girl's wall! Open a patreon, claim harassment, and you will be minted. I bet this has already been done

Well, I know what I'm off to do. Here's hoping this magazine accepts my femme friendly queer work, so I can start earning even more dollar

As all the other anon's stated, from your responses and the website, it looks like a hyper-pro-female website "by females, for females".

This anon's sentiments and comments are completelt accurate. >>2908433

>Most of the men I know would turn around and leave if you had an edgy print of a vagina on your wall, or on a cushion. It just screams 'batshit'.

The only people who are excluding, dividing and segregating women from men, are women, notably the New Wave Feminists, and SJW movements.
