i've used it for a few jobs. much easier than posing yourself in front of the camera, and the free version does everything you'll ever need.

I use it for drawing lewd stuff, I find it super fucking useful

It's great for when you want your own custom references for art.

Too many people I know make their own models and pose then trace them for easy hits.

Use always the 3d model of manga studio, with DD have problem with the import model and the base model is a child.
I can't made all the time the model for use it.

My brain is somewhat allergic to references, I thought I'd use the 3D model in CSP a lot but found it easier just trying to sketch the poses without it and fix anything that looks wrong as I go through it (posing was just waste of time for me). Even with reference pictures I just look at them for a minute, quickly sketch something and move on. I hate this because I make a million mistakes ignoring the references

Anyway I just downloaded this thing to see if it's useful but it gives me an error.

I do gesture drawings and regular studies every other day, so while I'm using it to crank out easy commissions, I am trying to also learn and get better without them.

But I also work a 50-60 hour job, so some days I just lay on the couch and laugh at furry drama.

I'm sure if I did studies every day I could improve rapidly, but I'm trying to find a good balance between studying, commissions, relaxing, and work. If I could leave my job to study and practice full time I would, but I have too many people depending on me right now.

Maybe in the next few years I'll be able to do that.

The model is Kanon by Kakomiki. It's got a bunch of sliders that lets you change breast size and body size, so it's one of the most versatile to use for reference.
Shader is AdultShader, which is one of the few shaders that works with MMM.

How do you do that forced perspective stuff? Maybe I'm retarded by I can't find the option for it.

Is there a way just to view the wireframe? When I right click and change the camera positioning you can see the wireframe, but as soon as you let go it goes back to the render.

Trace is for existing drawings/photo/works. It's not trace (and more importantly not plagiarism/illegal) to draw over your 3d model you posed. Same for tracing a photo you took yourself.

You could call it tracing but since the pose and angle are yours it's still much better than the usual tracing. I don't see this method as a problem. The lack of definition of the models won't help you for good anatomy and you overall still need to know your stuff. It's a very good way to make a solid base for your drawings.

Personally i use design doll just to know where limbs would go and lay my own stylization and anatomy knowledge on top of model.

Can load and save TWD files and save OBJ files to export. But the option to load models from DA doenst seem to be working. That's 2 out of 3 of the free version limited options.

If you trace it's gonna turn out looking like shit UNLESS you know what the fuck you're doing. And if you know what you're doing you're only going to use these as reference and make a better, more dynamic and detailed result. I don't think there's anything wrong with using those as reference, but relying too much on it or tracing the poses is a mistake.

Case by case.
I've conditioned myself to do one of few things when using a ref I made in DD
>Outline the ref, then apply your knowledge from studies to the rest
>Good ol look-and-draw from the side and mark down what you can take from it
>Trace nearly one to one if 1. Too lazy or 2. I like the result too much to deviate from it.

I started with the latter first using DD, now I'm getting into the former. But if I did that pose myself, I'd do the latter because it looks great to me personally, and really, it that's done from imagination without something to guide you to that final result and it was all just done off the fly then it's yours to do whatever you want, no one else has that image but you.
