Best device for sketching/drawing on the go?

Have you considered the 9 inch ipad pro with apple penci? Pretty sure it's cheaper than a cintiq companion.

Fold up a piece of paper untilt it fits in ur pocket then just get a small pencil and eraser and sharpener. Thats all u need.

Cheapest spiral-sketchbook you can find so you don't get precious with the pages and a pencil or brush pen. Another alternative that I find brilliant is a greyscale set of copic markers, like a full monochrome watercolor set in your bag without the water hassle.

Ive got a Samsung Tab A and it works pretty alright for me. Only problems are that the stylus only has 2 pressure sensitivities and there arent really many good art programs on android. Im using Autodesk Sketchbook Pro
Large screen is nice though and its superior to carrying a sketchbook unless you prefer traditional.

nigga just use paper and some mechanical pencil or fountain pen.

you need to practice your line quality and definition first and you only need digital for color mixing, rendering, and final effects which you won't achieve in a terrible phablet and paint app.
