When I was younger I took art classes and all that but I stopped due to school reasons, I always liked it never stopped drawing and recently I've been thinking of doubling down and buying good materials and all to work on my drawings. I want to know if /ic/ thinks I have the talent

Not gonna make it.
Talent is a myth. Practice a lot, and practice intelligently. Read the sticky and learn perspective/anatomy etc.
As for whether or not you should take art seriously that's up to you. I'm not you and I can't decide for you if you enjoy drawing and making art or not. You don't want to waste 1000's of hours learning and practicing something that you don't enjoy.

I've always enjoyed it is just never really had the chance to do anything with it. Most of what I've done is just drawings I made in class with the same pencil and eraser I use for school

I mean its always been on you to take it more seriously if you wanted to. Like if you're looking for someone to tell you "OMG ZHO TALENTS u Shud BE PRO" you're not going to get that and ultimately even if you did get that I doubt it would motivate you.
Do art or don't, up to you.

Maybe buy some cheaper colors, charcoal or even just a set of better pencils and see for your self how much more fun it is for you.
