Thoughts on The Natural Way to Draw from Kimon Nicolaïdes?

It used to be reccommended here a lot but recently I've heard people calling it a meme. I'm inclined to agree with them. It makes you heavily rely on having a model present pretty much 24/7 and it makes heavy use of stuff like blind contour drawing which I don't think is really all that beneficial. It may be better to just pick up a Hampton, Bridgman, or Loomis and incorporate w/e you learn from them when you draw from life/refs.

Should I start with Loomis? Like, if I really know nothing? Or should I start with Betty Edwards?
