It was back in the invasion arc, so instead of drawing the ships and other alien shit, they decided to create 3D models to then draw on top of it. I would say it's laziness if it didn't take so much effort and time, it honestly baffles me.

While the panels make spacial sense, they end up looking really boring. Some of the panels are just rotated angles of the characters in the same poses.

Kind of related but not...is there some website that can offer the creation of 3D models and even basic shapes online where you have camera control? I often think how much help this would be to do something like Gantz guy does, at least to check my perspective, but I'm a poor fag who won't priate programs and I am still running Windows XP, which is more of the problem.

I'm not into 3D modeling myself, but I know Blender and SketchUp by name. Both free. /3/ could probably make more recommendations.
