does being an artist imply being a fatfuck
>>
>>2890569
Used to be fit. Now I'm not. I'm not fat though.
>>
>>2890569
Getting fit is simply a matter of spending an hour at the gym three times a week and eating right. If you're a fat fuck you have no excuse other than having some glandular issue.
>>
Just work out 2 times a week. All you need is 2 hours a day of light cardio with some good tunes, eat 3 meals, quit consuming sugar and drink enough water. Why 2 times a week, because you're probably fat and will give up. Get rid of some of that stinky sweat you glutton.

If you eat better, you'll feel better, and you'll probably draw better.
>>
>>2890619

everything, even this planet is in constant motion,

start with nutrition if you want to lose weight....

What is it like?
>>
If anything it seems like great artist are more fit than anything else.
>>
>>2890752
This is so true with many examples
>>
Most noteworthy artists I can think of are either of an average or a somewhat above average build like Frazetta or Steve Huston. There are a few outliers though. Eric Goldberg is a pleasantly plump old Jew and Will Terrell is a chubster as well. Art is a discipline so most well-disciplined artists will probably have somewhat disciplined eating habits. Obesity itself is a strong indicator of an undisciplined, hedonistic person so it doesn't surprise me that most artists worth a damn are relatively normal looking people (and I mean real normal as opposed to the whole it's [sic] 2015 and there are so many obese people that we should normalize it instead of encouraging people to be healthy for the good of themselves and society).

Pretty sure it's implied that most artists are skinny/skinnyfat.

I mean there are a lot of bloated tumblr artists (and that usually comes across in their work), but from my experience fairly skinny seems to be the norm.

At least among physical artists, maybe there's a solid link between digital artists and amount of fat.

definitely not. Artists tend to be somewhat fit.

But personally I could do better. Too much sitting in front of a computer and skipping meals at times. Too much sweet stuff. Staying up too late. But I think I got ideal weight for my height and isn't fat. I still get a backlash every second week with some weight exercises and prefer to take stair over the elevator. I used to be really fit.

I'm a fat piece of shit. Go through periods of not eating at all for weeks to crazed binging. I want to eat normally, my relationship with food is fucked.
>>

I heard somewhere that starving yourself/dieting just makes your body stop burning fat because it feels like it is in hard times and needs to conserve and store as much fat as possible. So maybe just as bad as binging itself. Regular diet of non-packaged real foods primarily from produce section with primarily water for drink is what everyone should strive for.

I am from Colombia, and as usual most hispanics pile up carbs unnecessarily. I took notice of this years ago and while I wasn't obese, I was overweight, my height when I was thirteen was 5'9 and I weighed 180 lbs. I cut out all soda and flipped to coffee, water, oj, milk, and unsweetened teas. I started jogging, and dropped to 142 within three months, as I had the will to be strict with my diet and workout routine over the summer. Eventually I became strong enough to do pushups. Five years later and i'm squatting at the gym, planking, riding my bike, doing overhead presses, standard stuff nothing fancy, but my bf % is in the low 9% region down from what used to be 20-30% as a kid, and my diet is pretty simple: Two eggs and a quarter-cup of steel cut oatmeal for breakfast, and two bottles of water to four before 1pm; at 12-1pm, eat some steak, beans, eat pretty heavy before hitting the gym around 4-5 pm, then when you come back eat something before 9 o' clock, and sleep around 10-11. Seems to be speeding up my fat loss for the past month, so I'd recommend this style of regimen.
>>
>>2898866
I certainly hope so. It's a classic.
>>
>>2898877
The gallon of water a day meme is actually pretty good if you don't mind the water weight. I really don't care about the aesthetics as much as I cared about feeling awake at the time. When I started working out I would get very dehydrated and I didn't realize this but it hurt me in high school because I wasn't able to stay awake in class so much. Water is a godsend as long as you don't have too much as well.

I don't think i'm anywhere near a good artist yet, I am on my last year of a CTE high school education and I only recently decided to pick up a pen, pencil and pad.

The good thing about going to a school that teaches you to fix planes is that due to all of the blueprints and technical drawings they make us create, I'm pretty good at judging proportions on existing art, but my handskills aren't good at creating proportions from freeform.

But yeah i'm technically not an artist, closer to an engineer sketcher, but not even that. I'm a total beginner; actually I just started the first pre-instruction drawing on "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain".

I'd start doing some posture and spinal related exercises man, sounds like an amazingly healthy lifestyle and grats on escaping Diabeeto mode, but if you're OHP and squats are progressing, you need to balance it out deadlifts, pullups and rear delt work like facepulls or rows. Not even for aesthetics, simply because the stronger your front and side delts become from OHP, and the larger your quads, the more 'hunched' you become because they pull your whole physique forwards. Keep up the great work

>>
>>2899842
Hey, it's the guy from >>2898877 >>2898883
and >>2898975 here, thanks for your reply!

Actually since I became strong enough to do pushups (well, since I lost enough weight for my existing strength to allow me to do pushups) I've gotten a much stronger upper body, relatively speaking I guess. Like I said, not the strongest guy around, but if you were interested, here is what my usual week stacks up to; you already understand my diet from the above posts:

-Day 1: 5 Sets of 10x OHP, the first set always being a weight I struggle with because it's heavier than the last (atm it's 90 lbs while my usual is 80; two weeks ago it was 70 while my usual was 60,)
60-70 lb barbell curls for 5x10reps, and I do 5x10reps 25 lb for main forearm curls and 15-20lbs for the opposite motion (outwards? Don't know the name. It's for the top muscle if my hand is flat on my table.)
I can max out pretty high on a linear leg press machine and my mobility is hella because one characteristic I kept from being a kid was my flexibility, ironically being fat didn't stop me from doing splits, so I either do 5 sets of 10 reps w/ 8-10 45 lb weights on the machine. Either that or squat with 50-60 lbs on each side of the squatting bar, personally I don't understand why the numbers don't add up but I feel that if I did 450 + 100 lbs from the resistance and weight on the linear press that I would snap in half, so i'm working on squats and progressing a little more slowly than my arms, but my mom's genes gave me a large ass and set of legs, which as a guy I really don't mind.
Then I do 100 pushups and 15 minutes of cardio and call it a day.

-Day 2: 100 pullups (2 sets of 10 x 5 different grips on the bar; wide, narrow, overhand underhand, etc) and 400 jumpsquats (1 set of 20 followed by 2 sets of 40, four times using a timer, giving myself 20-30 seconds of rest between sets)
If i'm feeling energetic during this routine i'll do pushups or plank, but usually I save that for (...)
>>
>>2900289
(...) the next workout day

Day 3: Rest, eat relatively light.

Day 4: 15 x 1 minutes or 3 x 5 minutes or 1 x 15 minutes of planking depending on what kind of challenge I want. Go out and ride my bike for 30 minutes to an hour, that's pretty much my day.

Day 5: Either a repeat of day 1 or 10 suicide sprints and 10 hill sprints.

Day 6: Rest

Day 7: Day 2

And so on and so forth; I bought into some of the bro science given to me by Elliot Hulse and the Hodge Twins, mostly the smaller stuff like creatine and using a foam roller, but they don't really get in the way of doing my normal stuff do I don't mind. I heard creatine monohydrate increases waterweight tho. From Hulse and some other random dude I saw I started doing intro-abdominal vacuums after each workout and while I'm not sure if it's really useful, it doesn't take more than 10 minutes so I don't mind.

Cold showers and baths are your friend, and I like to take warm showers only if i'm sick, but still finish with the cold.

But yeah thanks for the advice man I had no idea that just OHP and squats could make me get hunched over, my dad's like that mostly from his bread packaging and delivery job so I'm trying to avoid getting into that kind of a situation. Thank you! >>2899842

Back in highschool I fuckin hated the kind of person I was, i wouldn't talk to any cause i had no balls and just didn't care. Before i started collage I promised myself that I won't be that guy. On the first day I made sure to meet everyone on my classes and get to know them. It was easier because these people were here for the same reason as you. I still have the lingering self but it took me a while to realize that people are interesting.

I used to work out a lot when I was 17 (2012) but that was also when I weighted the most, 110kg in the picture on the far left, then I did a special deff program related with my training and lost about 8kg in 9 weeks from 110kg - 102kg.

After that I did it once more one year later because even after the program I still had a far way to go but I was still satisfied with my results so I stopped working out and actually quit totallt in the end of 2013 and after that the only thing I have been doing actively is eating right and walking a lot!! Thats all you have to to really, before when I was fat I worked out like a fucking beast but I didn't get leaner and I couldn't get that trough my skull at that time that what I was doing wrong was the diet.

Now I weight around 85-90kg 4 years later and I must say, this is the best time of my life, I got cheekbones from nowhere, I feel incredible, I feel beautiiful and I don't give a shit about what others think about me anymore even if I was to go back to being fat. But being fat doesn't give you anything good, it fucks up your self esteem, you can't do normal shit like other people without being tired or feeling fat or ashamed, I felt this way too and I learned so much from it, you should just try and do it, if you don't like it you can always go back to being fat if that suits you but once you have managed to loose some weight you will feel so good that you will be angry with yourself for not doing it earlier and realizing how good you actually can feel by just embracing our beautiful bodies without ruining it with useless weight and junkfood...
