I don't know who hurt the OP, but jesus I don't see the problem. Some chibi/cute features along with some slight sexualization. You'll double dip in terms of audience you'll grab.

Their linework is very clean whether it's all CSP stabilization or not, as well as they make the most of what rendering skills they have. They know how to take advantage of what seemingly little technical skill they have, and that's fine. You don't need the knowledge of a professional to create something appealing to the masses, especially catering to a big IP fanbase.

I don't know if you follow a bunch of artists or not, but I see this happen all the time, where a person with 100 followers suddenly gets thousands in a month. A snowball effect is common, very hard to get started then gets a lucky break, and by how often they post, they're definitely taking advantage of it.
