Idk if this makes me a bitch but I wish the artists who work in adobe illustrator, photoshop, etc would start posting in the a different board or start a new board for those mediums. Then just leave this board to those who work in oils, acrylics, pastels, charcoal, etc; basically those who work in fine arts.
Another thing; I usually work in oils but I'm experimenting with acrylics and mixed media. I feel that acrylics work best for that. My question is; has anyone ever used soft pastels with acrylic paint? What was your method? How did it turn out? Someone mentioned that you can paint oil over acrylic but not the other way around. Thoughts?

I took a clonazepam so my English and thoughts have reached maximum retardation.

What's your reasoning for thinking this?

Digital artists far outnumber traditional ones here though. Also many people do both.

Use the pastels on top

This has to do with making it archival. You can do acrylics over oils but it will eventually crack and fall apart. I've seen pros do it though, but they said they didn't care about the work lasting. It's also just easier to do acrylics first since they dry way faster.

Organization really lol. It's not that I think one is more important than the other. Also, my thoughts get jumbled easily so I may just be possible autistic. Thanks for answering my other questions.

Thanks! How would you even go about dabbling in digital arts?

Step 1)get a drawing tablet
Step 2)install kirita
Step 3)start drawing, using the manual on the website for tool reference

Oil dries by oxidation and even after it's dry to the touch it takes several months to cure completely. Covering it with acrylic paint, especially at that stage, will cause problems for both the oil layer, which will be starved of oxygen and not dry properly, and the acrylic layer, which won't adhere to the still-shifting oils and potentially peel off.
Even if you're painting oil on top acrylic it's recommended that your acrylic base be reasonably thin to keep your oils from cracking. It's not a good idea to have stiff, brittle paint on top of a layer of flexible paint.

when you want to go about dabbling in digital art, then yeah, start with the free software.

Not a good idea. The board is relatively slow as it is. Splitting the board in isn't necessary.
