What do you guys think about Matt Khor(ctrl+paint) as an artist?

That's how you paint a cup

but that's a kettle

I don't, anon. I wouldn't have even remembered who he was if not for this thread.

I find that unfortunate because I like his stuff, although some of it looks a bit boring. Is he unpopular because he doesn't draw much or what?

I think that he is one of the best teachers out there, and he is good, but also very forgettable.
I haven't seen much of his work outside of ctrlpaint, nor do I necessarily recall being blown away by what I remember. With no drama surrounding him, I can't really say I have been paying attention.
I would however, recommend him to anyone starting out over Sycra or Sinix.

He also seems to be working in the industry for over a decade now. Is there something in general I should do or avoid so that I don't end up being forgettable in the long run?

his voice makes me sleepy

I can't really say, and all truth be told, boring might not be the worst thing in the world with all the shit being flung these days.
Matt Kohr represents the industry standard, and the industry in and of itself isn't very interesting. I can't give you gold on how to be relevant, aside from either generating your own drama, or becoming so distinctly good that you are admired by your peers.

Yeah, I guess you're right. Not sure what kind of eye-opening revelation I expected. Thanks anyway.
