I've heard their illustration program is decent. Art Center as a school is treated at god-tier education only for their Entertainment Design and Industrial Design programs, not for their illustration program.

The school has a good reputation though and teachers who work in the industry, so it's very good for getting connections or getting scouted. It won't magically make you an amazing artist though or promise you a job, but if you do come out with skills you will be quickly noticed and get work.

If money is an issue then there are tons of other places both in person and online that will give you a similar quality education for a fraction of the price. The only difference is you won't get a piece of paper at the end of it and you won't get the same face-to-face opportunities to make useful connections in the industry.

From what I've heard the illustration program has gone to shit and the entertainment design program is decent but nowhere near the quality it was in the 80s and 90s when it was still ridiculously hard to get in. Now the school seems to be full of snowflakes and beginner-tier rich kids. No citations but know people who have dropped out of AC because they were disappointed by the quality of it.

yea i've heard about how the art center administration fucks the illustration dept. kids by putting in less money to their facilities even though its supposedly the big money maker/tuition for the school. and i have seen special snowflakes' work (probably could do better learning on your own in comparison to some of these people) come out of there as well as really good people, professionals. and a couple ppl who graduated from there i follow on twitter say don't go and instead said to go to the surrounding uncredited schools around there where art center teachers and alumni teach, like concept design academy or the art center at night program, brainstorm school etc. basically if you have the money i think it would be a really good experience
