Why do you keep your clip attached to your mechanical pencil (or lead holder) /ic/?
Do you dislike being able to comfortably rotate your lead to get a better edge to render with? Surely you don't actually use it to clip to your pocket because you use a pencil bag to carry your materials.
The first thing I do with any newly purchased mechanical pencil (or lead holder) I intend to draw with is to pull off that nuisance clip.

So I know which fucking side it's on you fucker
so that it doesn't fall out of my shirt pocket... obviously... Fucking Beta

You can't tell by looking at the lead or from how it feels when you contact the page? Very confusing thing you say.
i use a cheap dixon ticonderoga which i don't rotate so that i can get a chisel tip similar to a marker which allows for similar ease of line variation, plus it stops me from fretting about every single mark, focusing more on the image holistically
but that's jus me

I find this only useful when I block out the form. When I render, I am very precise with each stroke because inconsistent lines can ruin a group of hatching.

How do they sharpen the lead/graphite core outside of just general use?
>>2872593
nvm, just looked up 'lead holder sharpener'
didn't think it'd be that simple to find
Absolutely. When I get anxious, I rotate the pen/pencil I'm holding in my hand. The clip helps me keep track of those rotations.
Is this just autism the thread or am I missing something?
