It's very selfish to expect that someone will love you just because you created a piece of art for them.

It may work on someone who you're already very close with, but even then you shouldn't need to. And if they don't know you well they're more likely to think of you as a creep.

Anyway, as for how long it would take to get to this level with no previous experience of digital art. At least two or three years depending on how much time you put into developing your skills as well as how you use that time (4+ hours a day). Expect four years or more if you only put a couple of hours a day into it.

Nah m8, supposing you are already experienced, just 2-4 months would be enough. 1 year if you really suck.
The shift from traditional to digital can be done in 1 month even.

5'8 is fine. Salsa and tango are good places to start, though tango is harder to learn (but girls love it more).

Then you can fuck with stuff like hip-hop, cutting shapes, etc. This is great for parties. Don't start here though, you gotta learn pair dancing first so you get rhythm/learn to lead.

Seriously, if you want grills, one year of dance lessons is equivalent or better than 10 years of art study. Look at history: almost all great artists had failed marriages at best. Not the OP, but where do you learn to dance? Should I look into some of the basic dance classes offered at the community college I'm attending? I have a weak sense of rhythm and can't move my body fluidly at all, so I'm a little apprehensive about dancing at all.

Yeah that's a fine idea. There's probably also a studio or two that does classes. Make sure it's not partner-oriented, go for a singles class. High chance it's gonna be lonely middle-age women, but that's exactly what you want to begin with. they'll be happy to dance with your young ass, even if you're short. More partners to practice with= getting better faster. Read up on time signatures and buy a metronome. developing some basic rhythm isn't hard. It's seriously much, much easier than learning drawing fundamentals. just spend ten minutes a day counting along to various signatures with your metronome, then trying to find the beat in songs you know are in that signature.

Seriously you'll probably get to a class and it'll seem "gay" or "lame af" and your friends will make fun of you, but in a year or so you'll be so fucking glad you did it. dancing is TOP GOLD TIER first date material, even if you're ugly (as long as you don't smell).

I should clarify: this is because most dancing is oriented around the guy knowing what he's doing, not the girl. So even if she has no idea what to do, the movements are *designed* so that it's okay as long as you know what to do.
