Just got this $50 table easel so I can draw from the shoulder and not from the wrist like a retard. Did I fuck up?

why arent they advocated moar? Is it gimmicky?
Have the same thing, find it pretty useful since i like watching what i draw straight in front of my face, so i can overfew the whole picture always and if i lay the paper down in front of me, it is always angled slightly.

I use a sheet of MDF cut to fit whatever paper pad I'm using and lean that against my desk or prop it up in my lap. Most of the time I prefer to keep my drawing horizontal so it's easier to spin around though.

all the old masters like Da Vinci painted on easels

I was referring to drawing, not painting. I prefer having a board I can move around, and I've used high-end drafting tables and easels.
Does it not stand on its own?
