advanced
and that should do it

If it looks hard, it's as hard as it looks.
>>2852880
Right leg is not bent enough and left arm isn't raised enough, but otherwise good job
>>2852803
I fucked up the lower half so I resized it in MS paint. I don't know why but this gave me so much trouble :/

It's okay anon, we all make mistakes

Thats my favourite model to draw.
I appreciate the kind-of-contribution but just to clarify, this thread is supposed to be for constructing a figure based off an image, but drawing the pose from a different point of view, so trying to tilt the model around in your head, and not for posting figures from different angles and straight up drawing those.
Like so: >>2851415

Alright, since this thread isn't really popular as it is, i hereby open it to ref dumping and drawing those if you like. Post turnarounds like this >>2855016
or foreshortened stuff like this >>2853172
The OP post was misleading anyways, let's just run with it.

fucking scum
Do you guys have any tips or good excercises for drawing a foreshortened body?
Because I'm having quite a lot of problems with drawing anything other than a simple 360 turnaround.
>>2855887
Start by learning how to draw a foreshortened body from direct reference, then try to recreate a foreshortened pose from indirect reference.
>>2855887
What comes together when attempting to draw a foreshortened figure are principles of depth/perspective and knowledge of the human form.
Pic related, a foreshortened form, as the term suggests, will never be as long as in straight on view.
If you think of the human body as made up of thin plates stacked onto each other, as a 3d printer would, and you tilt the figure in space, these plates would overlap each other.
Some may be hidden or only peek out a bit.
When you know about the volume or form of the body and about how forms diminish in size when they recede into space, you can estimate how the plates or forms would overlap.
When drawing a foreshortened figure, there is a temptation to draw parts that wouldn't be visible from the intended view, because the actual two-dimensional shape does not correspond with what we are familiar with as the human form, which is an image gathered mostly from straight-on views.
So you have to submit to drawing shapes that may seem abstract at first.
Through practice like observing and drawing from life (simplify the forms, eg. arm=cylinder) you can be able to recognize reoccurring shapes and get a feel for what looks right, even from unusual angles.
tl;dr: learn about perspective principles and anatomy, draw from life

What I wrote about plates might be confusing, I just mean cross sections of the body, but for the sake of simplicity, the body should be thought to consist of basic forms, so circles (ellipses in perspective) for pic related are fine ofc. Hell, this is basically what sycra's "coil technique" is based upon, building form by stacking these circles as they recede or come forward. Although he is spiraling around the form in a continous line, rather than drawing seperate cross sections.

I like how hard this is
>>2852803

I would get headaches on the left side of my head when I try to draw from 3D . I have horrible spacial reasoning, I hope I will make it
Is it normal to try to think in 3D for a long time to get headaches, or stress headaches from drawing something in challenging for a long time?
>>2856892
Yes, that's called going out of your comfort zone, anon. You should try it more often. It's how you git gud.
>>2856893
No I love getting out of my comfy zone to improve however my headaches are getting worse since last month from another project. Getting out of my challenging myself was more of annoying headaches, but recently they are just getting worse so I'm wondering if its normal to get headaches all the time when challenging yourself. or should I see a doctor
>>2856517
In your right drawing it looks like she is falling over, try to make sure your figure is balanced by putting a line of balance first, pic rel. And get into some proportion, those legs are tiny!
>>2856539
This pose is the worst, nice job.
>>2856302
This ain't half bad.
>tfw each layer of clean-up gets worse
fucking why
>>2856910
lol youre getting headaches from this? oh man youre gonna be in the ride of your life for whats ahead.
Could dump a folder of poses for you guyz
>>2854385
How does one actually start drawing like this? How do you first structure your drawings? Like, wireframes etc.
I don't know where to start when I want to draw a person.
>>2852803
quite challenging. i dig it
>>2857117
>>2852803
How'd I do, /ic/? (Symbol drawn face, I know, but I was being lazy)
>>2857036
try erasing instead
it seems messy at first but you'll get better
even just erasing small parts and redrawing them often looks better than tracing on a new layer
Really good exercise, damn hard
>>2857532
bottom right girl's rib cage would be more overlapped by the tittie, you've lost much of the perspective of the rest of the figure with the ribcage, member to think in that old time thrazzle dazzle
otherwise you doin good, like your lines, feel like i kno your work but can't quite place it at this stage
>>2853185
man i drew and redrew this back angle so many times, never got anything satisfactory
this is really tough
So, i didnt follow the rules in OP, but heres something.
>>2853485
that's amateur shit, 3 a day, every other day.
so many contributions, nice!
>>2857437
looks kinda stiff, the model has a distinct s curve though. note how the hips are tilted and even the shoulders slightly but it makes quite the difference if completely left out. the legs are also too straight.
>>2852809
fuck this pose
>>2852803
i've known about this type of exercise for a while, but i've never tried it until this thread.
it's really challenging, and actually fun at the same time
>>2854399
She's perfect
Let's keep it challenging.
>>2857213
I find it helpful to draw the directional lines of the limbs first, so a stick figure if you will. keeps it simple and depending on how foreshortened a limb is, you just draw a shorter line. and circles or dots for the joints or other landmarks, then just connect them. so it's a simple skeleton first, that shows the orientation and place in space, afterwards volume is built with drawing tubes or boxes around, the rest is refinement based on reference or experience. oh, and at the very beginning it can help to draw a sort of bounding box, that encloses the whole figure and informs you of it's orientation in space, refer to it for reference at any time and add perspective lines to your drawing if needed.
>>2857814
Exaggerate more.

i'll keep it in mind next one
