I got an F, I wanted the line to have some sort of 'statement' to it. I haven't messed with the ink colors that much yet, this one is some no-name ruby red. I plan to get a converter with toffee brown ink - I have a soft spot for earth tones in figure drawings.

Well, I see that as reaching as many people possible.
Like I said, not everyone uses tumblr, deviant art, instagram at the same time.
Posting your work in one place will only limit yourself to that specific community.
There is no harm with posting your work in different websites.

I have a behance, tumblr, facebook and deviant art account.
I have people following me that don't know about my other accounts and they wouldn't know me if I didn't post my work outside of one specific website.

I'm working on it! Although lately, I've been trying to push wider rather than towards the finish line. I want to eradicate my fear of drawing things outside of my comfort zone, and think more about what I'm drawing, as paradoxical as that might sound. This isn't just an illustrator's thing. You're selling things for cheaper than what they're worth because you can't get any business at all. Stores do this all the time, they sell things at cheaper than what they're worth in order to get customers. Then, every store has to sell things cheaper to compete because they're /losing/ customers. Eventually the store that originally sold them for cheap has to raise their prices because they could never afford to do it infinitley but its too late. Customers become too used to the low prices and won't accept anything costing more. Businesses cut costs any way they can, whether its employing Chinese sweat shop workers and violating human rights or using bad quality materials that deteriorate.
Instead of just pricing things for what they're worth you've cheapened things in order to have a higher quantity of work, customers want a higher quantity of products which cost a higher quantity of resources. The whole thing collapses in on itself. This is why materialism degrades our society. You've turned yourself into a cheap factory that produces useless garbage at garbage prices, the people who pay you will eventually not give a shit about what they bought because they didn't give enough of a shit to pay a good price in the first place.
You are the problem of society but more importantly on here you are the problem of everyone who is a working artist.

I think the whole thing of fiverr is not in itself hurting things (as you point out WotC won't look on there), but rather it is a symptom of a bigger issue. The market is oversaturated with artists and they are all trying to out compete each other by slashing their prices (further complicated by how global things are and how much living expenses vary in parts of the world), and this does get reflected in even the higher end things. Like MtG is known for paying better than most other companies and they still don't pay very much all things considered. It's supposed to be a company you work for when you are at the top of the industry and yet many of their artists are living in poverty. Rates in the industry are at an all time low, and competition is at an all time high.

That's for autistic kids to doodle in their notebooks and manchildren. If you are a professional who is getting paid to do so, then I'll let that slide.But drawing that kind of stuff on your own will is just sad.
Drawing cars, animals, and realistic people is perfectly fine. Doodling poorly drawn cartoons is not. Cartoons are a refuge for people who couldn't learn how to make real art....

New anon here, that term is EXTREMELY relative based on location. If his asking prices are enough to fulfill his needs then you have no reason to tell him to charge more, and if he's severely undercharging then his quality of life and/or output is sure to suffer in the long run. Even in your case, 20 bucks an hour is shit in some areas, and enough to support a family in others.

Let's say he's charging properly for his cost of living and his skill level, and he's of equal skill to you, then he's simply more competitive than you. But he's not a company or a wide-area service provider, he's a single worker doing commissions. The threat of him "stealing" clients from you, even if there was an insane amount of demand for him, is negligible because he can only work so much at a time, and people are bound to look elsewhere for an artist who isn't booked up. (You could also market yourself better or improve your skill level to make yourself more attractive to prospective clients... you know, become a stronger COMPETITOR, instead of blaming the conspiratory ghost of cheap labor on everyone's problems.)

Worst-case scenario, if he's severely undercharging in hopes of finding more clients, he'll be forced to increase his pricing or pursue another line of work eventually.

In any industry, there's still a client pool for high-end goods because there are people who 1) have the money and don't care about the cost or 2) are willing to pay for a guarantee of higher-than-average quality. Look at the organic foods industry. Not everyone is going to stop buying that $12 grassfed asparagus water just because the cheap outdoor chinese market just opened up around the corner.
