I lurk around on /fa/ and /hm/ a lot, so if you recognize the last five pics or so you're a big gay
At least post another image that will be equally as awesome as that one, because it has been posted quite a few times already.
Anyone know the name of the model or photographer?

Chu better show us that left page nigga
>>2857498
I'm still trying to get the hang of gouache before I even touch oils. I feel like my underdrawing was pretty tight but it fell apart when I started painting.
I started with a few thin washes to get rid of the white of the paper and lay down localized color but that hair...goddamn I don't understand how Leyendecker did it.
>>2858377
real nice my nigro
>>2858377
Try to paint in as few layers as possible.
Start with the major blocks of color and worry about details later.
>>2856712
I like it
>>2855044
Don't worry about it. It can be beneficial early on if you use a mid tone background, it makes it easier to see value. It's no big deal, do what works.
>>2858377
>I'm still trying to get the hang of gouache before I even touch oils
why? gouache is nothing like oils
>>2850736
this is always so crazy to me It seems like the encumbrance value on this type of armor would hinder your ability to fight

>painting isn't like painting
wew
>>2859047
if you think every type of paint requires the same technique, you are beyond retarded
gouache dries in a couple minutes if not seconds.
Oils take days to dry, and just the surface.
>>2856181
I like these ones, why do you have same filenames as me though?
>>2859228
>>2859229
name? wow such a pretty face
>>2859237
Such an edgy cunt, though. Look at the shitty razor tattoo next to her scars.
>>2858990
I'm just following what Jeff Watts says. He says gouache is a good, relatively inexpensive training tool for learning how to turn forms. Once you can learn how to use blocks of color to describe form, then it's a lot easier to switch to oil.

I found it in the street. An office building was being emptied and there were boxes of correspondence paper being thrown out. I decided to grab a couple of boxes.

and another.
Is it bad to use gore for references? Moments of death are so rare and has such a primal demand for curious eyes ... I feel that makes it beautiful.
Pics like this make me immediately want to work on some impasto paintings.
>>2850728
Took me twice to notice the top of the hat isn't a pidgeon cage but just his hair
>>2862619
For me it is immoral (not just that but looking up gore on liveleak, etc), as it in some sense, validates the existence of horrid things.
>>2862853
what do you mean?
>>2850688
>>2862860
Presumably someone's job is to gather refs for them, so yeah probably.
any idea on how to practice drawing lips? like points to remember
>>2850682
OP starts a Ref thread with an established artist work and calls it ref.
this is why we can't have nice things.
I love these threads.
>>2864400
Someone will rush in to correct me if I'm wrong, Cunningham's Law and all, but iirc the biggest thing with lips is shading since that's what gives it form
