I think it was a book I read that made me despise torture. Nothing mind-blowing, but it was called "The Good Soldier Svejk" by Jaroslav Hasek; bassed mainly off true events from a war: the soldiers in Austria that refused to serve their country had their stomachs pumped and enemas given to them on a daily basis. Ever since that book: I have seen death as preferable to torture

my girlfriend broke up with me, i still hadn't made any friends in my 19 years on earth, crushingly depressed, had just left art school and thought i had no prospects for the future so i left home and was gonna live in new york homeless... would've stayed longer but the police found me and brought me home.

that was years ago though.

the more traumatic thing for me was being admitted into a mental hospital shortly afterwards for about a month and being injected with anti-depressants because I refused to take them.
