Alright this might be a little complicated I believe, but I'll attempt to explain what I mean exactly. I absolutely adore the art that combines what i said in the threads title. Macabre/pretty; dead/cheerful; sad/beautiful in this very special style. I have not found an artist who specifically works on such ideas, though I still have found some examples of what I mean:
>Fran Bow (videogame) dollhouse
Here's a video about the specic scene (I have not found one without commentary) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=N96gTLfIL5c everything looks extremely corny, though when she takes the pills it may be flooded with all these dark scary figures (ofc even without the pills dead bodies are still there). Really like the contrast in style there, you wouldn't expect 2 sewn together babies in such a place. The entire game is a good example though, pic related shows a friend of yours (friendship/death) quite well represents what i try to talk about.
>little big planet (wedding reception)
This is a perfect example of what I mean https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WUJBTPVFNJs
The confrontation& combination of dead creatures, death itself, dark gloomy surroundings, but also bright positive neonlike colours, and happy faces. The entire theme of death/wedding also fits into this. I get that this is related to the day of the dead, which is a concept that also very well represents what I'm talking about (as in death/celebration), though I never found pleasing art concerning that day.
Either way, if anybody can relate to what I feel or understand what I'm talking about and knows of an artist who works in such a way I'd highly appreciate it being posted here. I love art like that, i have no idea why.
>tl;dr
