But it's okay to fail. You're not supposed to be good when doing something you've never done before. So just draw from imagination and accept that it'll be a failure, but use that to do better on the next and fail again. Continue to do so until you succeed. It's the only way. You'll have to confront failure eventually and the quickest way to get over it is to just do it no matter how much time is spent. It all contributes in the end.

However, probably 95% or more of people do not reach anywhere near their upper limit. And there's nothing magic or ridiculously complex about art.

Well of course it looks like shit, you either haven't studied properly, or you haven't applied what you studied properly. it sounds like you bought into the /ic/ idea of grinding, which doesn't work at all. Studying without proper application, or rather stress testing of your studying, will not yield positive results.

You shouldn't be studying for 10 hours. Find a single thing you want to get better at, study it for 2 or three hours, and then spend just as much time applying it to original works. You cannot and will not get better be doing x amount of hours of studying until you magically can do it with no problems; That isn't how it works

I'm kinda surprised how many people believe they should get their drawing in one try. Even pros are capable of dishing out cringe, they get caught with their pants down all the time.

But yeah, draw from imagination, see why it sucks, look up how to fix it, repeat. It's gonna take some time.
