Syd Mead is my favorite artist of all time. His sense of design and color is out of this world, not to mention his incredible command of perspective and rendering. And when he attempts to draw cartoons it look like the shitty scribblings of a edgy 13 year old. I guess Proko is in good company after all...

You're conflating artistic range with ability. Mead didn't get where he is by diluting his time and work with tangents, his narrow interests(or expression of them) worked in his favor. He perfected something specific and unique by focusing on it, the same way any cartoonist has done the same.

That's a good use of 3D though. You're not even conscious of them unless you're not looking at what you're supposed to be for some reason.
