heeeheee its IS actually fun to draw!

http://www.alexhays.com/loomis/

Guys why didn't push this one over the rest? Its great! and actually fun (something all of gitgudders could use from time to time)

so far out of the ones I've read:

Fun with a pencil > Creative Illustration > Head and hands

haven't read figure drawing , successful drawing or the eye of the painter. I actually own a hardcopy of creative illustration.

what's your favorite Andrew Loomis book and/or diagram/passage?

why is loomis a meme in the first place? some things in his books are actually solid teachings when it comes to figure drawing and dynamic poses
Figure drawing all the way

Beginners seem to think you only need to read the book once. No, reread hundreds of times.

Fun With a Pencil is unironically the greatest book written about art that's ever been produced
>>
loomis is shit for beginners because he expects you to know some stuff beforehand. I am not saying his books are bad but to recommend his stuff for complete beginners is retarded and that is why /ic/ sticky is a complete joke. Never followed it, no regrets.

This, perspective made easy is a much better first book

No it isn't dummy. Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain (like, the first two chapters only) or Keys to Drawing are basically required reading before anything else. Most people can't even draw things they're looking at so what good would starting with a perspective book do?
