Don't worry too much about the books, try to understand this stuff conceptually.
The most important skills in drawing are: Proportion and placement, Form, Anatomy, Perspective, shape design, and composition.
Proportion and placement can be improved by simply taking your time and trying to make your copies as EXACT as possible. You can do bargue studies to speed up the process but it's not required
Next on the list is Form/Gesture/Anatomy
The reason I put these together is because in order to improve in one of them you have to improve in the other. For example, In order to improve your gesture drawing, you need to understand anatomy, in order to understand anatomy and apply it to your work you need good form skills.
Though out of those 3, the most basic would be form. Form is basically seeing things in 3 dimensionally. Sites like drawabox and markdrawingututorials on youtube would give you all the necessary information for form exercises you can utilize. It might also be wise to study perspective since there is great overlap, marshall vandruff and erik olson lectures on new masters academy are your best bet.
For anatomy, your best bet is Krenz Cushart, Loomis and Michael hampton while complementing it with google image searches of particular muscle groups and bones.
For composition, framed ink is your best bet. I'm running out of time but hope that helps.
