Would you buy an abstract painting?
>>2821812
Yes.
But not this one.
>>2821812
Sure, if I like it. I don't really like that one tho.
Lee Krasner is my favourite.
No.
I've never seen an abstract painting that moved me as much as certain figurative paintings.

I swear to God, when I used to work as a dishwasher, the pan with the brownies looked like this. Only if I knew, this would pass as art...
Yes
>>2821965
What. You must be reading my comment wrong.
>>2821812
I don't have enough money to make money laundering worth it, so no.
>>2822014
oh yeah i did lol. good thing i refrained from saying "faggot" or this mighta been a disaster
This is one of those things I just don't "get".
I can't tell the difference between most abstract art and just basic decorative canvases you see at like HomeGoods or something.
Sometimes I'll see something that just looks very nuanced and experimental and can get a reaction out of me but most of the time it seems very...lazy and gimmicky.

Because it is. Abstract art is a meme for fags who can't draw or paint but still fancy themselves l'arteeste

I was about to post something along the lines of
>You mean shitty art, OP?
But then it hit me: these things are art, and I'm not talking only about the paintings / sculptures / used diapers, I'm talking about how the entire society revolves around and deals with it, from the hipsters who think it's 2deep to the people who actually call it what it is.
It WAS 2deep all along; contemporary art is meta-art guys. Shame that doesn't change how shitty it is, though :^)

Ok, in sum, contemporary artists are like those deviantart "trolls" which draw bad pictures on purpose.
>>2822050
"abstract art is a meme" is a meme
>>2822084
"'abstract art is a meme' is a meme" is a meme
>>2822080
Contemporary artists are literally anyone making art today. Everyone on this board is a contemporary artist. Or they would be, if they made art.
>>2822089
You know what I mean when I say "contemporary", smartass.
>>2822091
>"you know what I mean when I post contemporary"
>posts image of modern art
Why bother assigning meaning to words at all? Keep it flexible, it means what I want and when you use the word it means what you want, and never the twain shall meet.
This board really only knows about digital "art" and anime girls, barely anyone seems to know anything about Art. Sad.

lol yes
