Enviroment is messy and with a wide range of tones, even the sky that seems plain in your drawings, has a range of tones.

First off, resize your artwork to 1000 pixels or less in both directions. Also, I see that you like Gorillaz. Good taste.
Anyway, the first thing that grabs me is that the hands are slightly too small. If you put your hand your own face, you should notice that a fully extended hand covers most of your face. Also the way Noodle's arms are drawn is stiff. Try to draw a stickman skeleton or mannequin with curving gestures as your base instead of straight lines. Also the ear seems pretty low as it usually will sit between the browline and the nose line.

Yeah, I feel you man /ic/ is a very shit place but it is an easy way to get critiques... albeit fairly rarely and in differing quality. I do notice that you have some sense of form (I like the cross contour attempt on the arms) but your proportions are still need a little work. Keep in mind even with different head to body proportions that:
Elbows line up with bellow button when arms are straight down,
Wrist lines up with waist or slightly below it, legs are usually as long as the head and torso combined,
Hands are as big as the face, and the length of the feet should fit snugly within the inside length of the forearm.
If that was confusing I'd suggest checking out New Master's Academy on Youtube or Fantastic Anatomy(who basically steals their information anyway) and use 4chan only for people to critique whether or not you did the techniques in the videos correct or not. Ignore the trolls who say symbol drawing and Loomis and practice hard. Deeds not words!

don't use leaf texture brushes for trees unless you've blocked in the form of the tree itself
you need to keep in mind the branches as well, they make up the skeleton of the tree
do silhouettes and sketches of the trunk, branches, etc.
approach tree drawing like anatomy, trees are just made out of masses and you need to think of it in those masses to draw and render it properly


also use reference, you're symbol drawing but with colors instead of shapes

if you want to improve your foliage take a look at Peter Han's dynamic bible (in book thread) it'll teach you how to construct stuff

ok first of all the shape of that face is a fuck, everything is squished towards the bottom and the theres huge excess of space up top.
if you are trying to emphasis some sort of angle where her head is tilted forward then the rest of the face doesn't really deliver that properly, make sure you reflect your drawing, you can ween out a lot of mistakes just by doing that

don't fill gradients with so many strokes, fill shadows with hard edges and then soft it painting/erasing with airbrush, you'll start to simplify it and then polish it faster

I'm sorry to say but your understanding of light and shadow seems very weak.
The lightsource is seems to be coming from the top right judging by those animal eyes, but you haven't done anything else to show that. Looking closely at the hair it looks like there are lighter spots on the hair going to the left and darker shading on the right which contradicts your established lightsource. Also you half assed some hatching lines on the dog but you bothered to put in a cast shadow underneath his jaw and what looks to be shading on the inside of the ear and under the lip. If you're gonna do that you have to shade the other parts of your drawing otherwise it'll look like shit.
Stop samefagging. Stop drawing anime. Stop procrastinating. Practice realism with Loomis, Vilppu, and shading more.

So I've been trying to develop a style that combines anime influences with a western comic style. This is where I currently am.

I find my biggest obstacle has been adapting to digital drawing vs traditional it seems.

And try doing different expressions with them as well. Some might be more expressive than others. You don't have to get exactly one that you like but try to narrow down at least 2 or 3. You should use different eye shapes and face shapes for characters in general, but try to use the the 1 as the standard and the others as variations of that standard.

Good luck! This is the hard part of stylization, you gotta experiment on breaking and bending the rules to see with what you can get away with. It'll be weird to figure out but nothing feels better than developing a style that you made yourself.

I typically do find that I feel like my art doesn't have enough dynamism,life, pop, or w/e you want to call it.

I dont know if it's that i dont have enough of a grasp of gesture drawing or what, but I definitely feel faces need a lot of work.

Each image is exactly the same size canvas you first submitted all put onto one canvas side by side. The edits are very rough but it show you that you have better options in terms of how you could screen tone this piece. Usually you want to get as close as you can to gray as you can but still retain the aesthetic of screentone of having white in between black dots otherwise you'd just use a solid light gray. Screentones in manga have their own aesthetic and it takes practice to get it right.
