I need to take some community college courses this semester. Would taking Drawing I as a beginner be a good idea or a bad one?
And don't say "just stay home and practice on your own to save money," because if I don't take this, it'll just be a different course to fill the same requirement. If I'm going to be dissuaded from Drawing I, I want it to be because taking it as a beginner actually is a bad idea.

Really, how well you do in class it up to you. The first two typical assignments tend to be useful (blind contours and gesture), but after that, it'S up to you to strive for accuracy.
There are no naked people in Drawing I.

It's a good idea. Just check ratemyprofessor first
It may be a little hard. Will probably be a lot of still lifes, perspective and color excercises and eventually figure drawing. Should do fine with some effort though
We're not sure what's in that specific course, but it could be contour drawing and accuracy.

Take it and see for yourself. It feels like most of the time, it's just doing assignments and learning how to do them. But getting good? No one apparently tells you.
