What a coincidence, just today I saw Vilppu draw a similar pose, from his "modeling tone" lecture.
It's quite a different style, but you won't get a better redline than this.

vilppu is a disgusting pervert

Noob question.
Why do people sketch in Red? My book said use a normal 2B. Should I change?

A sanguine pencil is popular because it gives the drawing a more vivid color and is close to the color of human flesh. Same reason why toffee brown ink is preferable over pure black.
Nothing wrong with a 2b pencil, it's cheap and versatile but also has a bit small value range.
The tools I'd recommend are the koh-i-noor charcoal and gioconda pencils (pic related), staedtler lead holder for convenience and microns or ink rollers for practicing line confidence. A nice fountain pen when you get bored of all the graphite.

As a follow up to this >>2798976 the issue i'm having is with the hip bone. If it should be noticeable at that angle. It's pretty easy for me to fuck up a pose like that with the lower torso feeling disconnected from the upper part of the body.
Should the hip bones be noticeable at this angle?

>never gonna make it

Thanks, I actually bought a cheap version and just busted out my light sepia pencil to work on my loomis.
Trying to get used to the scratchy sound.
Not sure if i am ready for this yet though as it is difficult to rub out.
