IC, give me a beginner's routine to improvement
My weaknesses are anything background/setting/composition related.
I see a gigantic blank canvas and I'm overwhelmed at the thought of having to fill it all. It's nowhere near as intimidating as painting in a face or a person.
I'm thinking that means learning perspective first. What'd be a good goal to set for each and every single day to really get in there and practice perspective and composition?

I mean to say it's way more intimidating*
but if we give you a routine then there's nobody to wipe your ass after you shit

obviously you guys set yourselves daily/weekly/monthly goals or something
it's not just brainless grinding, you look at what you lack and you set goals to overcome it
what's a good routine that i can follow that will help me fuck perspective's shit up? i ask here because you guys have been doing this for much longer than me
help a brother out

First, you need to lurk more before making threads. I'm in a good mood right now, but all of your questions could have easily been answered in the beginner thread >>2797731
Please don't fuck up like this again.
If you go there you'll quickly find a good routine. Personally I've been following Aguri's guide and it's been excellent for teaching me perspective. On the second term now and my skill has improved dramatically in the past few months. I won't tell you where to find that, you should put in the effort to find it yourself.

just do some bite-sized pieces, anon-chan. if you want to draw spaces and don't like big canvases just do some 4x4in sketches of rooms, places, and spaces you like. do a whole bunch until you feel more comfortable around it and then see what you can do from there.
also do some small still lives. set an orange or a glass on a table with a room/place behind it, then you're getting spatial understanding and composition skills at the same time.

>That total lack of understanding of perspective

OK so. You need to go the beginners thread. Read keys to drawing or drawing on the right side. Once you work through the symbol drawing books. Then start drawing from real life.
When you start drawing from real life after you complete the books then post some drawings doe critique.
After all this it's time for loomis.
