The painting (?) is definitely Japanese, though. Hiroshi Yoshida, pretty sure he was well traveled.

I'm not the OP (I posted the second two images), I just think the guy's shit looks really appealing.

I think colour choice is a big part of it. There's a lot about his art that appeals to me that I can't pin down though.
