drawing in public is a meme. trying to draw people in the 2.5 seconds it takes for them to walk past you doesn't actually teach you anything. But hipster artist wanna-bes really want an excuse to pull out their moleskin (another meme) and sit in a Starbucks sipping expresso and showing everyone how artsy and sophisticated they are.
