Can't pin down what exactly about this artist (Holly Brown) makes me uneasy. there's something wrong, I know. Not sure if it's the asymmetry or awkwardness

it looks like it was compressed inwards, looks like it'd be fine to use to advertise on click bait articles or buzzfeed or something
Wtf that's a bizarre coincidence... I was pondering her work earlier today for similar reasons.
I see her as a proficient artist who knows the technical aspects of art, but just has some pretty bad stylization.
She has color theory down perfectly fine, she's good at the figure, and she's fine at art in general judging by her realistic work. It's just her accumulation of these skills into one comic book style that kill it. If she had a better style I would be more of a fan.
That said its fair to assume she is more interested in quantity over quality in most cases, considering she is aiming to get a comic out really soon. Her asymmetry isn't placed in appealing places like composition - it's simply put in ugly areas like faces and form. It makes it so unappealing and seemingly done on accident like a tumblr kid who doesn't know fundamentals

This thread is so wild because I've been confused by Holly Brown for the same reasons?? I have no idea how someone who clearly has a competent foundation somehow manages to make the strangest choices in stylization??
pic related: left is from this month, right is from 2010-ish??

Plus they both look like retarded mouth breathers. You can just imagine them both going, "Hurrrrr".

The perspective looks weird, like the squished form you get when you put vanishing points too close together. The figures kind of look noodlet

*noodley.

Literally who? Why there is a discussion about this? The art looks like shit. Typical female art from twitter that has awkward anatomy and focus on relationship/feeelingzz
Fuck it
