how's it going /ic/
the artwork attached is by an artist named Kristian Russell. I came across him in one of my classes and as an uncreative engineer i'm inspired by his artwork. Specifically, i enjoy the way he makes use of arbitrary backgrounds to keep from drawing away from the focal point of interest - usually a lady figure. I really like the "juicy" colors he uses in his work as well, and the methods in which he uses 1-3 similar hues to create definition (in the related image, only 2 browns are used for the skin, only 2 blues for the jacket, 2 yellows for bikini).
Like i said, i'm an engineer and this is way out of anything ive studied before, but is there other artwork out there which is similar to this style? I really want to create a gallery of similar images for my computer's background, but anything i find by Russell is too little a resolution to fit my monitor. please help an art peasant?
I'm adding this image to help clarify what i pointed out as liking in my original post.
If i'm shitposting or disturbing the peace, let me know and i'll GTFO.
Sorry bro can't really help you, colors reminded me a little of Francois Nelly tho, but thanks for introducing anon to this artist
