How valid is pic related? I've been told when drawing giant characters to just keep the proportions at 8 heads tall just up the size of the heads but also I come across others who suggest adding more heads and keeping the head small just like here. Which is the right way to do it?

There is no "right way", you stupid shit.

Maybe not "the right way" but what I am looking for is the consensus of what most artists go about it.

If you want something more godlike in stature the general consensus in classical "rules" is to use 9 heads. Take that for what it's worth, everyone has a different definition of a 'giant'.

pinheads look retarded

I think so too, characters with about 11 heads and up do look silly to me especially when not past 8 feet tall. But like anon here says >>2772081
I do agree that around 9 heads characters do have a larger appearance without looking weird. I just want some opinions and feedback on what other artist think looks better.
Andre the Giant, who was 7 foot 4 is still 7 and a half heads tall (although it looks like a little less because of his shitty posture). Hogan is also 7 and a half, and he's pretty fucking tall too. Realistically you just scale the 7 and a half heads up.
