Here's my Sokol original I own. I would say the only market for this type of art is selling zine/self-published books at cons.
Just because there isn't a market doesn't mean it's worthless to study and try to be as good as Cole/Sokol. They're both solid heroes to have.

I highly recommend to check out the good larry games. They are probably the most widely known erotic games that have a broad audience. Also the author shares the same feels as OP:

His influence was actually Whitney Darrow Jr (and later Searle). Look at the Darrow's sketches of women in the Famous Artist's Illustration course.
I'm the guy who owns the original and it looks like a mix of watercolor dyes, gouache, and ink or thin acrylic for outlining/signature.

Definitely, there's a market for it. Almost every lewd artist is doing hardcore fetish stuff, leaving the pinup market kinda up for grabs. My personal art is pretty fucking shit yet I still garnered myself a decent following with many wanting me to open commissions.

Nick Swift is primarily a pinup artist, he dabbles in softcore(?) porn I think too, but he's a personal favorite of mine as far as that goes. There's also Bill Presing, Shane Glines and Bruce Timm.

Hell, most fan artists are defacto pinup artists nigga.
