your values are fucked, the value range of your shading is far too wide, do more still lifes of basic shapes to fix it. also you are symbol drawing, you are drawing flat shaps rather than understanding things as 3d objects, read the first chapter of the vilppu manual(then the rest of it)

I, personally, am not fond of the style. the guitar pic head looks like it's only a few inches deep. If you really want to get better at drawing forget about color and shading for now. focus on designing your shapes first then think about how they work in 3d.

If I said everything that's wrong in this piece I would describe the whole image, but the thing that bothers me the most is the arm. Shoulders can't do that, put it some perspective and keep in mind that is a 3d drawing, that pose would be ok if it were from those acient egiptian drawings.

And if you are graphic designer you should know what the job of designer is - solving problems. Why didn't you apply some of the stuff you learned for your illustration? Did you even do thumbnail mini-paintings before doing this illustration?

It's like you just jumped right into it without thinking. Do the thumbnails before stuff like that. You can see then what works and what doesn't.

Even Watts does so when he paints gouache. Like 3 mini-portraits before doing larger piece.

Btw there's a good stuff and bad stuff here. Some things are just glaring, like disjointed, awkward position of a hand, color palette that is random and head floating above the neck.

But you don't need to hear it from /ic/ or other guys. You need to see it for yourself because those are major mistakes you would normally fix in a minute. IF you would make few initial thumbnails. But you didn't. You didn't think and shitted something and now want critique.

Thanks for the critic man, i'll check the video looks really interesting. I though i did a good job with my illustration, in fact i use a reference for it and base most of the work on it... the colour palet was a personal choise, i did that on porpouse in order to get good contrasts.

vamos de lo más horrible a lo mas detallista:

El Brazo ese es imposible q este en esa posicion. Salvo q lo corten y se lo peguen en la clavicula.
Desde la cara hasta los trapezoices se nota q es un ensamble de influencias y no funciona. Apegate a un solo autor ponja y sumale lecciones de loomis y comprate algun libro de como dibujar.
En cuanto al pelo no se que carajo quisiste hacer, trabaja en bloque y agregas ondas, sobre todo que no quede como una cortina como es tu caso.
El color es la paleta del personaje pero el sombreado es un asco. Se sombrea con color y en una capa aparte y le vas sacando opacidad a piacere, si queres algun rincon mas oscuro new layer un color mas oscuro que el anterior y otra vez dale a la opacidad.

Básicamente practicá anatomía y color. Vos "Never gonna make it", pero por lo menos no vas a dibujar como un nene de 14 en devianart.

Te saltaste el drawthrough papu, su brazo parece pegado como un collage, pero el rendering parece pasable.

No ves como que esta todo muy plano? no puedo imaginar a una hormiga caminando sobre su cuerpo, simplemente caería al vacío porque tu asuka tiene la profundidad de una hoja de papel.

Aprende anatomía y construcción. Si no puedes con algo, usa referencias.

90% de un buen dibujo es la construcción. Si tienes una buena construccion puedes tener un buen dibujo incluso si no le pones colores.

Si por el contrario tienes buena tecnica para renderizar y tu construcción es mala, lo que vas a hacer es conocido popularmente como "Pulir un truño".

Honestamente hay mucho que decir sobre tu dibujo, pero seguro ya muchos te lo dijeron. Lee Loomis y Michael hampton; tambien lee "Anatomy for sculptors" y seguro vas a estar bien.
